Samantha Barks's Biography
Samantha Barks was born on 2 October 1990 in the Isle of Man.
Her mother taught children with special needs, and her father Richard was a building surveyor.
Her father was also a winner of the Ramsey Sprint, one of the TT motorbike races that take place on the Isle of Man.
At 16, Samantha Barks moved to London and studied at ArtsEd.
Her big breakthrough came when she was chosen to appear on the BBC One talent show, I’d Do Anything.
She came third.
Samantha Barks went on to be cast as Eponine in Les Miserables initially on stage and then in Tom Hooper’s film version.
In 2016, she was selected to be one of the celebrities on the ITV show Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.
