At the time of The Apprentice, Lorraine Tighe was a single mother of two children. Lorraine and ex-husband Theodore Apostolov split up a few years before she went on The Apprentice.

Lorraine Tighe was born in London, grew up in Westmeath, but when she was six, her parents, James and Loretto Tighe, moved back to Ireland, and Lorraine attended Rathowen N.S, before going on to the Loreto College in Mullingar.

At 16, Lorraine Tighe left school and returned to England where she went back to school and then got her degree.

She went on to be a successful sales person.

The Sun revealed that Lorraine Tighe's father was a construction boss, whom Revenue and Customs investigators believed, "pocketed more than £47million in receipts to complete massive building projects between 2004 and 2006 — a period during which he is suspected of failing to pay tax or VAT on the earnings."

According to the News of the World, Lorraine Tighe has been banned for life by airline BMI.

Later The Mirror revealed that Lorraine Tighe had split with her long-term partner, Dennis Saterlay, who claimed that press stories about Lorraine including those about her being a swinger had been untrue.

In June 2009, Lorraine Tighe did a charity walk to support research into meningitis, a disease which nearly killed one of her children.
