When she first appeared on Over The Rainbow, Danielle Hope was a 17-year-old from Manchester, although she turned 18 in April 2010.

Danielle Hope won Over the Rainbow and therefore would be playing Dorothy in a new The Wizard of Oz production.

At the time of Over The Rainbow, Danielle Hope was a full-time student in Knutsford High School.

Before moving to London to compete in Over The Rainbow, Danielle Hope was studying for her A Levels in Drama and Dance and her BTEC National Award Musical Theatre.

She was also applying and auditioning to study Musical Theatre at Drama school.

Danielle Hope has danced at the BBC African Dance Project at Bridgewater Hall, and the Dance House Annual Cheshire Platform.

At Knutsford High School she played Carmen in Fame, and over the years there she has appeared in Bugsy Malone, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, We Will Rock You, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story.

In July 2009, she contributed to the choreography of the lower school in Knutsford's production of The Wizard of Oz.

In 2012, Danielle Hope was cast as Eponine in the musical Les Miserables.
