Emilie Fleming's Biography
When she appeared on Over The Rainbow, Emilie Fleming was a 19-year-old from Tyne & Wear.
Emilie Fleming was the wild card selection and so reached the last 11 of Over The Rainbow. She ended up coming eighth.
She started singing lessons at the age of 10.
When she was 14, she was in the chorus for the 20th anniversary production of Les Miserables.
Emilie Fleming was St Joseph's School head girl. At the time of Over The Rainbow she lived at home with her mother Maureen, a mobile hairdresser, her father Terence, a technician, and her sister Melissa.
Emilie used to study at Carley School of Dance and Kathleen Burdon school, both in South Shields. She had taken Grade 5 Music Theory, Grade 8 Musical Theatre and Grade 8 Classical Singing, and received a Music Theatre Diploma ALCM.
Emilie Fleming's performances have included being part of the official opening of The Sage at Gateshead in front of the Queen.
She was the 2009 Pride of South Tyneside Young Performer of the Year, and gained a full scholarship to Guildford School of Acting to do a degree in musical theatre.
