Who is Mark Watson?

Mark Watson is a comedian and novelist, whose extensive TV appearances have included Time Trumpet, Mock The Week, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, and Nevermind The Buzzcocks.

In 2009 he filmed two series of the BBC Four quiz show We Need Answers.

His books include Crap at the Environment, Bullet Points and A Light-Hearted Look at Murder.

His Radio 4 shows include Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better, and he is a regular panellist on BBC Radio Five's Fighting Talk.

Mark Watson was born in 1980. He was brought up in Bristol, and graduated in English at Cambridge University.

His mother is Welsh.

He has been a regular on the stand-up comedy circuit since he performed his first show in 2002, the year that he won the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Competition and was runner-up in So You Think You're Funny?

In 2005 he was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer at Edinburgh.

He created a 24-hour marathon show in 2004 and according to The Sun, it "culminated in one major success - his proposal to Emily Howe."

In 2006, Mark Watson created a 36-hour show.

In 2010, Mark Watson became one of the celebrities on Marco's Kitchen Burnout.

In 2017, he took part in Bear Grylls' Celebrity Island.
