Nancy Dell'Olio's Biography

Early Life

Nancy Dell'Olio was born in New York, but brought up in Italy.

Her father Francesco is an Italian who set up delis in New York and her mother Antonia came from New York, but they returned to Italy when Nancy was four and she spent a lot of time in Bisceglie, in southern Italy, living in an apartment above a clothes shop.

Nancy Dell'Olio studied law at Rome University, and also studied at NYU before returning to Italy.

Sven-Goran Eriksson

She married a lawyer Giancarlo Mazza in January 1995, and set up a legal practice specialising in property. In her autobiography, My Beautiful Game, Nancy Dell'Olio describes how she first came across Sven-Goran Eriksson when she and Giancarlo were dining at their favourite restaurant in Terme di Saturnia.

On September 25, 1998 Nancy Dell'Olio and Sven-Goran Eriksson told Giancarlo Mazza about their affair, and sometime afterwards Dell'Olio and Mazza separated and Nancy Dell'Olio and Sven became a couple until they broke up in 2007.

She worked for various charities including Truce International, which she and Sven set up in 2002 to use football to promote peace; and the Red Cross.

She once told The Telegraph that her perfect weekend would be to stay at home because: "deciding what to wear and putting on make-up is stressful."

Life after Sven

In 2011, it was reported that Nancy Dell'Olio was having a relationship with Trevor Nunn.

In 2011 Nancy Dell'Olio became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing. She was paired with Anton Du Beke. They were the fourth couple to be voted off.

In 2016, Nancy Dell'Olio became one of the housemates on Celebrity Big Brother.

She was the second celebrity to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
