Alex Ferns's Biography
Alex Ferns is best known for playing wife-beater Trevor Morgan in EastEnders from 2000 to 2002.
Alex Ferns spent his childhood in Lennoxtown, near Glasgow, where his father, an electrician, had to work on the oil-rigs to make ends meet.
When Ferns was 12 his family moved to South Africa and ended up living in the middle of the Northern Transvaal.
After national service, he went to Cape Town University to study drama, and, in the process, fell out with his father.
On the drama course he met his wife-to-be Jennifer Woodburne, and they moved to Britain.
Years later, they would act together at the Almeida in I.D, written by Sir Antony Sher.
Alex Ferns's other TV credits include Casualty, Taggart, Holby City, The Bill, and Making Waves.
He also acted in the film Joyeux Noel which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, Golden Globes and the BAFTAs.
In 2010 he was the winner on ITV1's Marco's Kitchen Burnout.
In November 2010 Alex Ferns was partnered with Ricky Groves on Celebrity Coach Trip.
In 2017, Alex Ferns was cast as Rick Harper in the BBC Scotland drama River City.
