Big Brother's George Askew spent six months at art school before entering the Big Brother House when he was 19. George's great uncle is the Duke of Sutherland.

It was suggested in the first programme of Big Brother that George's mother was Prince Charles's private secretary for a few years, however, sources close to the Prince have denied this.

George was a boarder at Harrow School for 10 years, and says he's stubborn. It proved that way, when none of his fellow housemates could persuade George not to leave the Big Brother House.

George Askew apparently worried about the pressures of fame should he progress through the competition decided to leave Big Brother in its second week. He added to the odd start the seventh series had with Shahnaz and Dawn having already left Big Brother without being nominated.

After his premature departure from Big Brother, George Askew worked for an interior design company for a month and planned to go to University to study contemporary photography.

George likes the country life, for example, hunting.

Princess Beatrix attended George's 18th birthday and Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne are friends of his.

The Daily Mail provides a colourful profile of George Askew's father: "His mother is divorced from his father, Henry Askew, 66, a retired Grenadier Guards officer with a love of bullfighting and gypsy music. The teenager lives in Chelsea on an allowance from his father ..."

George spent much of his youth at Ladykirk House in Berwickshire, Scotland.

When a spoof Facebook entry was made for Prince William under the name William Wales, the fake profile's friends included George Askew.
