Jedward's Biography

John and Edward Grimes, the identical twins known as Jedward, were born on 16 October 1991 at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin.

Jedward grew up in Rathangan, County Kildare, with their older brother Kevin, their father John, a computer expert, and their mother Susanna, a secondary school teacher.

They became well known to a wide audience due to their appearance on The X Factor in 2009.

Known for their unusual blonde quiffs, and matching novelty outfits Jedward caused a stir on The X Factor. However, they failed to win the show.

Afterwards, Jedward released their debut single Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), which they performed with Vanilla Ice. It got to number 2 in the UK charts.

In 2011, Jedward represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest, performing Lipstick. They came 8th.

Jedward have appeared on reality TV shows, Let Loose on ITV2 and OMG Jedward on Irish television.

In 2011, Jedward became housemates on Celebrity Big Brother. They came third.

In 2017, they returned to Celebrity Big Brother, joining series 19, on the fourth day.

They ended up coming second.
