Alison Hammond was born on 5 February 1975 and grew up in Kingstanding, Birmingham.

She had a £3000 debt after college and became a travel rep, but she reached widespread public attention when she was a housemate on Big Brother series 3, before being evicted after fifteen days.

Alison Hammond went on to become This Morning's showbiz expert and roving reporter. Later on she would co-host the show.

Alison Hammond's other TV appearances include Celebrity Fit Club.

She had also acted in Boon, Chalkface, Locksmith, Yes and Palace Hill, having joined the Central Junior Television Workshop when she was 11.

In 2010 she became one of the celebrities to be on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Alison Hammond was the third person to be voted off I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. In 2014, she was paired with Aljaz Skorjanec on Strictly Come Dancing. They were the sixth pair to be voted off.

Alison Hammond was one of the celebrities to take part in the second series of ITV's Sugar Free Farm broadcast at the start of 2017.

In October 2020, the BBC announced that Alison Hammond would be on the celebrity panel for BBC One's I Can See Your Voice.

In 2023, Alison Hammond replaced Matt Lucas as one of the hosts of The Great British Bake Off.

In 2024, she became presenter of the ITV series, For the Love of Dogs.
