Aljaz Skorjanec's Biography
Aljaž Skorjanec was born in Ptuj, Slovenia on 19 February 1990. He started dancing at just five years old.
In 2013, aged 23, he became one of the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing.
Aljaz was paired with Abbey Clancy.
Aljaz and Abbey ended up winning Strictly Come Dancing.
In 2014, he was paired with Alison Hammond on Strictly.
They were the sixth pair to be voted off.
Previously, coached by Fredi and Daniela Novak, he had won 19 Slovenian championships in ballroom and Latin, and for many years had represented Slovenia in the World Latin and Ballroom Dance Championships.
Aljaz Skorjanec would often dance with Valerija Rahle, also of Slovenia.

Previous to his role in Strictly Come Dancing, Aljaz Skorjanec had appeared in Slovenia’s Dancing with the Stars.
Aljaz's dance experience also includes being one of the leading males in Burn the Floor.
He and fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Janette Manrara are married.
Aljaz and Janette had originally met on Burn The Floor.
Aljaz and Janette appeared together in Remembering the Awards.
Also in 2015, he was partnered by Helen George in Strictly Come Dancing.
They were the tenth couple of be voted off Strictly Come Dancing.
In 2016, Aljaz was paired with Daisy Lowe.
Daisy and Aljaž were the 7th couple to be voted off Strictly in 2016.
In 2017, Aljaz was paired with Gemma Atkinson. They reached the final four.
In 2018, he was partnered by Kate Silverton. They were the eighth couple to be eliminated.
In 2019, he was paired with Emma Weymouth.They were the sixth couple to be voted off.
In 2020, he was partnered by Clara Amfo. They were the fifth pair to be voted off.
In 2021, he partnered Sara Davies, They were voted off in week 8.
In 2022, Aljaz revealed that he was leaving Strictly Come Dancing.
However, he was back as a professional dancer on the show again in 2024. He was paired with Tasha Ghouri.
They ended up reaching the final and although they joint-topped the judges' leaderboard with an incredible 119 points out of 120, the winners, through the public vote, were Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell.
