Dr Sophie Kain was 32 when she entered the BBC's The Apprentice series 3.

Sophie Kain was fired by Lord Sugar on week 4 of The Apprentice. Asked by the BBC what her plans were, Sophie said: "I'm setting up my own company, which will be a passive selling environment."

Heralding from Llanellen in Wales, Sophie has a PhD in Theoretical Physics and before The Apprentice had established a career as a Quantum Physicist.

Sophie Kain worked as a principal research scientist for an aviation and shipping design company.

In discussing an aspect of her work as principal research engineer at GDUK, Sophie Kain was quoted in The Telegraph jobs section in November 23, 2006:

"I look at the widgets in universities and build a picture of how they could be turned into real products."

Sophie Kain also worked for Thales Research and Technology in Reading.

Sophie Kain's first jobs were sweeping the floor at the local hair salon for £10 per day and as checkout girl in her local Sainsbury's.

Her hobbies include playing chess and singing open-mic jazz. Sophie gave a testimonial to singing coach Helen Bolton.
