Marc Bannerman's Biography

Marc Bannerman was born on 15 August 1973 in Ireland.

He is best known for playing Gianni di Marco in EastEnders, but in 2000, EastEnders had a clear out of the di Marco family including Gianni, as reported in the BBC article, Axe falls on five EastEnders.

Marc Bannerman was the first celebrity to be voted off I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2007.

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here was not Marc Bannerman's first attempt at a celebrity reality TV show, as like Kate Lawler, Oliver Skeete, Victoria Silvstedt, James Hewitt, Annabel Croft, Michelle Heaton, Leilani Dowding and Jeff Brazier, he was part of the ill-fated Celebrity Wrestling on ITV.

Marc Bannerman's relationships have not always been smooth. Nadia Sawalha told The Daily Mail about her relationship with Bannerman:

"I can hardly remember him. It was a relationship that just did its time."

In February 2006, The People reported that:

"Former EastEnders heart-throb Marc Bannerman has been charged with assaulting his actress girlfriend.

"The 32-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Friday after police were called to his home during a row with Sarah Matravers, 31."

In November 2007 it looked like things were rocky between Marc and Sarah Matravers when he got close to Cerys Matthews in the jungle and Sarah went on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and was not backwards in saying how hurt she was.

After I'm A Celebrity Get me Out of Here, Marc Bannerman broke up with Sarah Matravers.

On 11 December 2007, the BBC reported that Marc Bannerman had been arrested following a row with photographers, whilst he was visiting Cerys Matthews and they had been to the Ship Inn in Pembrokeshire.

In January 2008, Marc Bannerman was cautioned for criminal damage over the incident.
