AJ Pritchard was born in Stoke-on-Trent on 5 November 1994.

AJ's parents Adrian and Debi used to run Danceade in Burslem before moving to Cheshire where they established Pritchards Dance & Fitness.

AJ Pritchard started dancing competitively at the age of 12 year old.

In dance competitions, he has always been partnered by Chloe Hewitt and together they have won numerous youth dance competitions including becoming, in 2015, British Open Youth Latin Champions and the European Youth Latin Champions.

Previously AJ and Chloe were National Youth Latin Champions for three years in a row (2012 - 2014).

In 2013, AJ Pritchard and Chloe Hewitt had appeared on Britain's Got Talent.

In July 2016, the BBC revealed that AJ and Chloe would become the youngest ever professional dancers to appear on Strictly Come Dancing later in the year in the 2016 series.

AJ was paired with Claudia Fragapane. AJ and Claudia just missed out on the final, coming fourth, after losing the semi-final dance-off to Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse.

In 2017, he was paired with Mollie King.

AJ and Mollie just missed out on the Strictly Come Dancing final coming fifth.

In 2018, he was partnered with Lauren Steadman. Once again, AJ came fifth.

In December 2018, it was revealed that AJ an his brother Curtis Pritchard had been attacked in a nightclub in Cheshire.

In 2019, he was paired with Saffron Barker in Strictly Come Dancing. They came sixth.

In March 2020, it was revealed that AJ Pritchard was leaving Strictly. His representatives said: "After four years on Strictly Come Dancing, AJ has decided the time is right to leave the show and follow his dreams to explore opportunities in the presenting world alongside his brother Curtis."

In 2020, he became one of the celebrities on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
