Who is Lisa Appleton?
Lisa Appleton was a 40 year old sales rep for a tanning company when she entered Big Brother series 9.Lisa had her 40th birthday when she was in hiding just before Big Brother began.
She and her partner Mario Marconi come from near Warrington. Lisa told Big Brother housemate Stuart that she and Mario met when she bought a crystal ball off him on ebay.
Although both Lisa and Mario were housemates, from the first day of Big Brother series 9, Lisa Appleton had to pretend to be single.
Lisa used to be a bodybuilder and then a fitness instructor. At the time of Big Brother she had an 18-year-old daughter, Sophia.
Before Big Brother, Lisa Appleton had also been a bouncer for six years in a Warrington night club.
Big Brother is not the first time, Lisa Appleton has been on TV. She was on Gladiators and, in 2007, she appeared on BBC Two's Kitchen Criminals.
Lisa Appleton's CV before Big Brother included winning Miss Wigan and coming third in Miss Stoke.
In the first week of Big Brother, Lisa and Mario had to keep their relationship secret from the other housemates, however they failed the task and so Stephanie, Mario, Lisa and Luke ended up facing eviction from Big Brother. However, it was Stephanie who was evicted in the public vote.
On Day 76 of Big Brother, Lisa faced the public vote again. This time she was up against Nicole and Sara.
Once again Lisa Appleton survived and it was Nicole who was evicted from Big Brother series 10.
On 24 August 2008, live on Big Brother's Little Brother, Mario Marconi was allowed into the garden of the Big Brother house to propose to Lisa, who accepted.
On BBLB, Lisa's parents, Geoffrey and Maureen, said they'd like to welcome Mario into the family with a party.
On 27 August 2008, there were nominations broadcast live on Channel Four. Lisa and Sara were nominated, but in a welcome twist they also had the right to play Prisoner's Choice (a bit like the end of Jasper Carrott's Goldenballs) for £50,000. They both went away £25,000 richer.
Two days later, however, Lisa narrowly missed out on the Big Brother final after she was evicted losing out to Sara in the public vote.
In 2013, Lisa and Mario got divorced and two years later she appeared in a Channel 5 documentary Celebs on Benefits: Fame to Claim.
In 2017, Lisa Appleton was the Celebrity Judge on ITV Be's Spa Wars.
