Fred Sirieix's Biography
Who is Fred Sirieix?
Fred Sirieix was brought up in Limoges in France where his parents worked in the health service.He went to catering college, where he started to specialise in working front of house.
Sireix began working as a Chef de Rang, a waiter in charge of a certain area of the restaurant, at the 3 stars Michelin restaurant La Tante Claire.
He then went on to work front of house at restaurants such as the Bluebird Cafe, Le Gavroche, Sartoria, Brasserie Roux, before becoming general manager at Galvin at Windows, the restaurant on the 28th floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane.
Fred Sirieix co-hosted with Michel Roux the BBC2 series Michel Roux's Service.
A director on that show encouraged Fred Sirieix to join Channel 4's First Dates where he has been the maitre D’ since the third series.
First Dates is filmed at the Paternoster Chop House near St Paul’s Cathedral.
In 2016, Channel 4 announced that Sirieix would feature on a spin-off show to First Dates starting on 2 January 2017, called First Dates Hotel.
In 20-18, the BBC announced that Fred Sirieix was to host a new BBC 2 series Million Pound Menu.
In each programme he welcomes two different sets of restaurant hopefuls, seeking to secure investment.
Fred Sirieix and his former partner Alex Spendolini had two children Andrea and Lucien and lived in Peckham in south London.
He exercises every morning and enjoys running long distances and has even run an ultra-marathon.
In 2019, BBC2 commissioned Remarkable Places to Eat hosted by Fred Sirieix. Each week Fred is accompanied by a leading chef. In the first episode scheduled for 17 July he was joined by Angela Hartnett in Venice.
In August 2019, the BBC announced that Fred Sireix would co-host with Allegra McEvedy a CBBC series Step Up To The Plate.
In the same month Channel 4 announced that Fred would host a series called Snackmasters.
In 2020, he was commissioned by Channel 4 to host Lockdown Wedding Live.
In 2020, he announced that he was engaged.
In 2023, he became one of the celebrities on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
Fred was the third celebrity to be voted out of the jungle.
In 2024, he became part of the BBC presenter line-up for the Paris Olympics.
His daughter Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix was part of the British diving team.
Fred interviewed her after she won a bronze medal along with her diving partner Lois Toulson in the women's synchronised10m platform.
