Who is Gino D'Acampo?

Gino was born in Torre del Greco in Naples in Italy.

Gino D'Acampo followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, who was head chef for Costa Cruise Ships.

Gino D'Acampo went to the Luigi de Medici Catering College.

In 1995, he came to England and worked at The Orchard in north west London and Cambio in Guildford.

He also spent time in prison, which according to Gino D'Acampo's official website, "resolved his mind and set him on a new course to succeed."

He went on to become the owner of Bontà Italia Ltd, a leading supplier of Italian ingredients to the UK food industry, as well as a regular figure on TV including appearances on Great Food Live, Saturday Kitchen, Ready Steady Cook, Step Up to the Plate, Chef v Britain and This Morning.

In 2009, Gino D'Acampo was a 43-year-old chef when he won I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

Along with Phil Vickery and Rosemary Shrager, Gino D'Acampo was one of This Morning's regular chefs in 2010.

In 2013, Gino D'Acampo presented a six-part primetime series for ITV called Gino’s Italian Escape.

Gino D'Acampo is married to Jessica and they have two sons Luciano and Rocco.

D'Acampo's cookery books include Fantastico! and Buonissimo!

In 2017, ITV commissioned an 8 part series Gino's Italian Coastal Escape.
