Alfonso Ribeiro's Biography

He is best known for playing Carlton Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alongside Will Smith from 1990 to 1996.

His character became known for performing 'The Carlton Dance' to Tom Jones's It's Not Unusual.

Alfonso Ribeiro also danced in a Pepsi advert with Michael Jackson.

In October 2012, Alfonso Ribeiro married Angela Unkrich. They had a child just before Ribeiro entered the jungle for ITV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. He was the sixth celebrity to be voted out of the jungle.

Previously, Alfonso Ribeiro had been married to actress Robin Stapler and they had a daughter Sienna.

In March 2019, the BBC reported:

"Alfonso Ribeiro has temporarily dropped his legal action against Fortnite's creators Epic Games, for copying his character's dance moves.

"The actor also withdrew a similar suit against Take-Two Interactive, creators of the basketball game series, NBA 2K.

"Ribeiro's case was weakened when the US Copyright Office refused to register his "Carlton dance" routine.

"Ribeiro's lawyer said his client intends to refile the lawsuits."

He won season 19 of Dancing with the Stars and went on to become co-host of the show, first with Tyra Banks and then with Julianne Hough.
