She is best known for playing Leanne Battersby in Coronation Street.

In 2018, when it was announced that she would be one of the celebrities on Dancing on Ice Jane Danson told the Manchester Evening News:"I've been Leanne for so long it will be nice to be me for a little bit."

Before Coronation Street, Jane Danson's acting credits included recurring roles in GBH, The Grand, and The Bill.

In 2018, she starred in a short film Sorceress, which won 'Best of the Fest Short Short' at the LA Indie Film Fest.

Jane Danson told Woman that although she enjoyed singing in Soapstar Superstar, acting is her real passion.

Her accolades include winning a Best Dramatic Performance Award at the British Soap Awards.

Jane Danson was a bridesmaid at her Coronation Street co-star Samia Ghadie's wedding to professional skater Sylvain Longchambon.

In 2019, Jane was following in Samia's footsteps by entering Dancing on Ice and she was paired with Sylvain.

Jane and Sylvain, along with Brandee Malto and Ryan Sidebottom, were eliminated 6th and 7th in the same show.
