Who is Alex Murphy?

Alex Murphy, who was born in Boston in the States, is an American professional skater who was a late addition to the Dancing On Ice line-up in 2018.

She started skating at a young age and at 14, she became a USFSA double gold medallist.

Alex Murphy became a professional skater and has appeared in numerous shows and was a soloist on Nancy Kerrigan's Halloween On Ice. 

She was a principal soloist on board Royal Caribbean Cruise ships, but, in 2012, she suffered a stroke on a cruise near the Canaries. Although she needed emergency heart surgery, Alex was skating just three weeks later.

Alex Murphy won Holland's  version of Dancing On Ice.

She is in a relationship with Doctor Marcus Stammen.

In Dancing on Ice 2018, she was paired with Kem Cetinay, replacing Megan Marschall.

In 2019, Alex Murphy was paired with Brian McFadden in Dancing on Ice.

They came fourth, just missing out on the final.

In 2020, Alex took over from Alexandra Schaumann as the partner of Joe Swash when Alexandra was injured.

They ended up winning Dancing on Ice.
