Jonathan Durden's Biography
Jonathan Durden, who was born on 21 October 1957, was a millionaire businessman when he entered Big Brother series 8.
Jonathan was joint founder of Pattison Horswell Durden (PHD) in 1990. PHD was a successful media company that Jonathan and his partners sold to AMV plc in 1996.
Jonathan continued to work at PHD and became its President.
Before PHD, Jonathan Durden worked at Anglia TV, FGA, John Ayling & Associates, and WCRS.
In May 2007, just before Big Brother, Jonathan Durden left PHD and became a partner at the advertising agency Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy.
Before Big Brother, Jonathan Durden had significant media exposure. For example, he wrote articles in The Guardian and was consulted by Media Week for his views.
Jonathan Durden, whose nickname is Beelzebub, lost 10" round the waist in the six months prior to Big Brother.
Jonathan, who has an interest in the management company behind the Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand, gave a revealing interview with Brand Republic, in which he mentioned he has a 1966 Jaguar Mark2 saloon and that Rupert Murdoch is the entrepreneur that he most admires.
In the third week of Big Brother, Jonathan along with Seany and Carole were nominated for eviction and also they were given the role of choosing a housemate to receive £100,000 and they selected Liam. To the surprise of many Jonathan survived the public vote and Seany was evicted.
Unfortunately, soon afterwards, Jonathan had to leave the Big Brother house as his grandmother died at the age of 104 and he wanted to be by his mother's side.
Jonathan, who has two children, was engaged at the time of Big Brother.
The Sun had an article about the death of Jonathan's wife of 18 years, Laura Naska Durden, in 2003.
Jonathan is scared of heights. He has a cat called Sweep.
Back in 1973, Jonathan Durden was in the crowd in Top of the Pops.
