Cloris Leachman's Biography
Cloris Leachman was born on April 30, 1926 in Iowa.
She appeared in more than 50 films and numerous TV shows.
These appearances led to nine Emmys, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar.
Cloris Leachman was the only woman to win eight Primetime Emmy Awards and one Daytime Emmy.
Her TV roles included playing Phyllis in Phyllis and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, playing Ellen DeGeneres's mother in Ellen, and Ida in Malcolm in the Middle.
Her notable film roles included Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein, Nurse Diesel in High Anxiety, and Ruth Popper in The Last Picture Show.
In Dancing with the Stars series 7, actress Cloris Leachman danced with Corky Ballas. Corky and Cloris did surprisingly well before being voted off in the middle of the season.
In 2008 as well as appearing on Dancing on Ice, Cloris Leachman toured with a one-woman show CLORIS!
In 2009, she released her autobiography also entitled Cloris.
Cloris Leachman died in January 2021, aged 94.
