Tom Bergeron, host of ABC's hit Dancing with the Stars, was born in 1955 in Massachusetts.

Tom Bergeron began broadcasting in 1972 at WHAV Radio in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Ten years later, Tom Bergeron moved into TV, as host of Super Kids at WBZ-TV Boston.

Further TV credits included 4 Today, Rap Around and People Are Talking.

In 1993, Bergeron broke into national television as host of FX's Breakfast Time.

In 1997, Tom Bergeron became fill-in anchor on Good Morning America and a year later he presented Hollywood Squares.

Tom Bergeron won the 2000 Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Game Show Host".

Bergeron also took up the high profile presenting role on America's Funniest Home Videos.

In July 2008 it was announced that the Emmy Awards would be presented by Tom Bergeron and the other four contenders for the Emmy for best reality TV show host.
