Maksim Chmerkovskiy's Biography

Maksim Chmerkovskiy is a top Latin dancer, who had a host of achievements when partnered to Elena Grinenko.

He has also competed with Ekaterina Lapaeva.

As well as dancing, Maksim Chmerkovskiy also promotes dance. He was one of the creators of Dance Team USA, and he owns Rising Stars Dance Academy. He also opened Dance with Me, a social dance studio for adults.

In February 2008, People reported that Maksim Chmerkovsiy was taking some time off and would miss the sixth season of Dancing with the Stars.

On New Year's Eve, 2008 going into 2009, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and fellow Dancing with the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff got engaged, however in September 2009 it was reported that Maksim and Karina had broken off their engagement.

In Dancing with the Stars season 12, Maksim Chmerkovskiy was partnered with Kirstie Alley.

They came second.

In season 11 of Dancing with the Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy was paired with Brandy. They were the 9th couple to be eliminated.

In Dancing with the Stars series 10, he partnered Erin Andrews. They came third.

In Dancing with the Stars series 9, Maksim partnered Debi Mazar, however they were voted off after just a few weeks.

In Dancing with the Stars season 8, Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced with Denise Richards.

Maksim and Denise were the second couple to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars season 8.

In the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy partnered Misty May-Treanor.

However, Misty May-Treanor injured herself in training and she and Maksim had to pull out of Dancing with the Stars.

It sees Chmerkovskiy return after his missing the sixth series of the popular dance show.

In the fourth series of Dancing With The Stars 2007, Maksim Chmerkovskiy partnered Laila Ali.

In the fifth series, Chmerkovskiy partnered Melanie Brown and they came second.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy partnered actress Tia Carrere in Season 2 and pop singer Willa Ford in series 3 of Dancing With The Stars.

In June 2016, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his fiancee Peta Murgatroyd confirmed they were expecting a baby.
