In an interview with Bruce Dessau, Darren Harriott, who grew up in Oldbury in the West Midlands, revealed, that his father was a drug dealer "who was in and out of prison before committing suicide."
Darren went to college and started doing stand-up comedy. He also worked as a bouncer, including doing security at the Apollo where later in life he would perform on stage.
Apart from Live at the Apollo, Darren Harriott has appeared on TV shows such as Mock the Week, Guessable, The Outsiders and Love Island Aftersun.
In 2023, Darren was paired with Tippy Packard on Dancing on Ice. They were the fifth couple to be voted off.
