Nile Wilson was born in Leeds on 17 January 1996.
He started gymnastics at a very early age.
In 2014, he became British Junior Champion. In the same year he won five gold medals at the 2014 European Championships in Sofia.
He also became part of the senior team and won four medals at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow including two golds (in the team event and the horizontal bar).
In 2015 Nile Wilson gained a silver in the team competition in the world championships.
In the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Nile won a bronze medal in the horizontal bar.
In 2018 Nile won five medals at the Commonwealth Games (including three golds).
His YouTube channel is very popular. At the time of his entry in Dancing on Ice in January 2023, it had 1.5 million subscribers.
He runs Nile Wilson Gymnastics, based in Leeds and Rotherham. His father, Neil Wilson is also part of the team.
On Dancing on Ice 2023, Nile was paired with Olivia Smart. They ended up winning the show.
