Who is Luke Campbell?

Luke Campbell was born on 27 September 1987 in Hull. His father was a miner.

He began boxing when he was 12.

He went to Pickering High School.

Campbell won gold at the London 2012 Olympics as a bantamweight boxer - the first British gold for bantamweight boxing since 1908.

Luke and his partner Lynsey Kraanen had their second baby in December 2012.

Campbell was made an MBE in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to boxing.

His nickname is Cool Hand Luke.

In 2013 he was paired with Jenna Harrison also known as Jenna Smith in Dancing On Ice.

They came third.

In December 2015, he was bean by French boxer Yvan Mendy at the O2 Arena.

However, on 29 April 2017, Luke Campbell defeated Darleys Perez at Wembley to put him back on track for a shot at the WBA lightweight title held by Jorge Linares.

In September 2017, Luke Campbell lost his WBA lightweight title fight against Jorge Linares on a split decision. His father died just two weeks before the fight.

The fight was Campbell's second loss in 19 professional fights.
