Jennifer Metcalfe's Biography

Before embarking on a career in acting, Jennifer Metcalfe was a fitness instructor at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre and Thornton Recreation Centre.

Her big breakthrough was being cast as barmaid Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks in June 2006.

Jennifer Metcalfe and her Hollyoaks co-star Claire Cooper and former Hollyoaks actress Leah Hackett (who all played sisters) established their own clothing rental company The Closet in Liverpool, which rents out designer gowns with the proceeds going to charity.

In 2011 Jennifer Metcalfe was paired with Sylvain Longchambon in Dancing on Ice.

There were reports that Jennifer Metcalfe and Sylvain Longchambon had got romantically involved during their training for Dancing on Ice.

They were the seventh couple to be voted off. The judges were surprised to see Jennifer Metcalfe and Sylvain Longchambon together with Vanilla Ice and Katie Stainsby in a skate-off at that early a stage in Dancing on Ice.

Jennifer Metcalfe's previous partners have included footballer Jermaine Pennant.
