Andy Whyment's Biography

Andy Whyment was born in 1980, and later in life he would become a patron of Hope Special Care Baby Unit because they looked after him when he was born.

Andy Whyment was always keen on acting and went to Oldham Theatre workshop.

He attended Ambrose Barlow School.

His acting breakthrough on television was a recurring role as Sean Tollit in Once Upon a Time in the North.

Before going on to play Kirk Sutherland in the soap, Coronation Street, Andy Whyment played Darren in the BBC sitcom The Royle Family.

He supports Manchester United in football and Salford in Rugby League.

The Coronation Street Fun Pages has some photos of Andy's wedding to Nichola, taken by Andy's father Fred.

In 2012, he was one of the celebrities on Dancing on Ice and was paired with Vicky Ogden.

They were the 10th couple to be eliminated from the show.
