Wendy Williams grew up in Ocean Township, New Jersey.

She gained a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Northeastern University in Boston.

Wendy Williams's major television breakthrough came in July 2009 with the launch of her daily, syndicated show, The Wendy Williams Show.

She has also appeared on television in the VH1 series, Wendy Williams Is On Fire.

Wendy Williams had been a popular radio personality and had won the Billboard Award for Best On-Air Radio Personality in 1993.

Wendy Williams was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in November 2009.

She is the author of several books such as the autobiographical Wendy's Got the Heat and The Wendy Williams Experience; and the novel Ritz Harper Goes to Hollywood.

She is married to Kevin Hunter.

In 2011, Wendy Williams was partnered with Tony Dovolani on Dancing with the Stars season 12.

They were the second pair to be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.
