Mikey Graham's Biography

Mikey Graham, or Michael Graham as he is sometimes known, was born 15 August 1972 in Dublin.

He shot to fame in 1993 when Boyzone was formed by Louis Walsh and along with Shane Lynch, Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately and Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham formed the line-up.

Boyzone sold 10 million records before they split in 2000.

Mikey Graham explained to Croydon Today that he then tried his hand at a solo album, producing and acting:

"I was steamrolled into doing a solo project ... it was a bit self-indulgent, trying to prove to myself and other people I was a serious musician. It was never going to work - the album is a nice album but I've no aspirations to do it again.

"I love being with the band and my main gig is song writing and music production. I went back to college to do music technology and sound production after Boyzone.

"I also went to America and trained with Brad Pitt's acting coach, and made some movies."

In 2007 Boyzone got back together and performed intermittently, however in 2009, Stephen Gately died.

In 2010 Mikey Graham joined Dancing on Ice, as Stephen Gately had done before him. Mikey's ice skating partner was Melanie Lambert.

Mikey and Melanie came sixth.

In various interviews Mikey Graham revealed that he had suffered with depression throughout his pop career.

In an interview with the Irish Independent in April 2009, Mikey Graham revealed:

"I'm tired of trying to hide emotion or thinking it has to be subdued and I grew up with that and was tormented with that until I realised, no that's not the way it's supposed to be.

"We've been socially conditioned to believe there's some kind of weakness if you do. But if you don't face your fear, you'll never be a man."

On 14 August 2004 Mikey Graham married Karen Conadi in Dublin.
