Winston McKenzie's Biography

Who is Winston McKenzie?

Winston McKenzie, variously reported as born in Jamaica and Croydon, is the brother of boxing champion Duke McKenzie; and himself boxed at a high level, before retiring at 23 due to a detached retina.

His other brothers Clinton and Dudley were also gifted boxers.

He later became known for his unconventional politics.

In his time he has joined the Conservatives, Labour, the Lib Dems, Ukip, Veritas, Unity and the English Democrats.

Winston McKenzie has run unsuccessfully for election to Parliament, Croydon Council and for London Mayor.

In 2008, he ran for Mayor as an independent and polled just 5,389 first-preference votes.

In 2015 it was announced that he would stand for Mayor for the English Democrats.

It followed his resignation from Ukip, where he had been Commonwealth spokesman until being replaced by Jim Carver MEP. 

McKenzie Bros Bar and Grill, owned by Winston and his brothers, opened in July 2001 but closed in December 2002 after a police raid led to 25 people being charged with drugs and firearms offences.

In 2016, Winston McKenzie became one of the housemates on Celebrity Big Brother, however he was the first celebrity to be evicted.

Winston is closely connected to Angel, who was a housemate on Big Brother series 10.
