David Harper's Biography

David Harper was born in Yarm in the north of England, although he spent much of his childhood in Zimbabwe.

His father had gone to Africa with the army and then became MD of a company there.

David Harper was always keen on antiques and started working full-time in the business at 18 years-old.

In the mid 1990s his family moved to Florida, where David's sister was a realtor. He opened an antiques shop in Florida.

However, not long later, David Harper moved back to the North of England.

His first appearance as an antiques expert in the media was at 25, when he took part in a Radio Tees live phone in.

It would lead to numerous appearances in the media, notably Cash In the Attic, Natural Born Dealers, Bargain Hunt, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, Flog It, and Antiques Road Trip.

Already a winner of Ready Steady Cook, in 2016 he was asked to participate in Celebrity Masterchef.

Based in Barnard Castle, Teesdale, he runs an art, antiques and classic car brokerage.
