Neil Antony Back was born in Coventry on January 16, 1969.

Even as a schoolboy, Back was determined to became a top rugby player and, at 15, he built a gym in his parents' house.

His first club was Nottingham and he made his England debut in 1994 against Scotland.

He then played for Leicester (where he was to spend 18 years - 5 as a coach), where he received a sixth month ban after accidentally striking the referee Steve Lander at the end of a match.

After the ban, he joined the British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa in 1997 and went on to become a regular in the England side. Neil Back continued to have success and, in particular, was part of England's World Cup winning side in 2003 as an openside flanker.

At 36 he became the oldest Lion.

He ended his playing career with 66 caps for England.

Neil Back then went into rugby coaching

In 2016 he became one of the celebrities on Celebrity Masterchef.
