Liz Johnson's Biography
Liz Johnson was born on 3 December 1985 in Newport, Wales.
She started swimming at just 3, after her family were advised it would help with her cerebral palsy.
In 2006, she gained two gold medals at the IPC World Championships, having taken silver at the Athens Paralympics.
In 2008, she won gold in the 100m breaststroke in the Beijing Paralympics, dedicating it to her mother, who had recently died.
Liz Johnson won a bronze at London 2012.
She competed in the S6 classification.
In 2016 she became one of the celebrities on Celebrity Masterchef.
She retired from swimming before the Rio Olympics after a hernia operation put her behind schedule with her training.
