Who is Martin Bayfield?
Martin Bayfield, whose height is 6 ft 10 in, was an international rugby player, who has subsequently worked as a presenter, reporter, actor, and after-dinner speaker.He went to Bedford School and then was a police constable with Bedfordshire Constabulary.
Martin Bayfield was a policeman for 10 years, before concentrating on rugby in which he notched up 31 England caps and 3 appearances for the British & Irish Lions.
Martin Bayfield, who was a lock weighing 266 lbs, suffered a neck injury in February 1998, and was forced to retire from playing rugby.
As well as reporting on and presenting rugby on BT and ITV, he has also appeared on TV screens in Crimewatch and The World’s Strongest Man.
Martin Bayfield was also the body double of Robbie Coltrane's Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter films.
He is the Honorary President of the Wooden Spoon Society, a rugby charity.
He and his wife have three daughters.
In 2018, Martin Bayfield became one of the contestants on Celebrity Masterchef.
