Who is Cherie Lunghi?

Cherie Lunghi was born in England on 4 April 1952.

Her mother, who is English, and her father, who was Italian, divorced when Cherie was very young.

Cherie Lunghi studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

At the start of her acting career, Cherie Lunghi worked for two years at the RSC. She went on to amass numerous acting credits on the stage, TV and in the movies.

Additionally, she famously appeared in commercials for Kenco coffee.

Her TV credits include Casualty, Cutting It, Hotel Babylon, Waking the Dead, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, The Manageress, A Touch of Frost, Apparitions, Casualty 1907 and, in the USA, Moloney.

Cherie Lunghi's film credits include Excalibur, Oliver Twist, Jack And Sarah and The Mission, which was directed by her husband Roland Joffe.

Cherie Lunghi and Roland Joffe divorced. Their daughter Nathalie became an actress and her credits include playing Princess Isabelle in The Palace.

Cherie is a keen painter and artist.

In the 2008 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Cherie Lunghi partnered James Jordan.

Cherie and James made a shock exit in week 9 of Strictly Come Dancing, losing the dance-off to Lisa Snowdon and Brendan Cole. Many including the judges were shocked that Cherie Lunghi had been voted off before John Sergeant.

Her theatre credits include acting in Off The Kings Road in 2016.
