The 22nd series of Strictly Come Dancing was scheduled to star on 14 September 2024, with, once again, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as the hosts.
Although it was to be the 22nd series, it was the 20th year.
Staying with a winning formula, the judges remained the same: Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and the head judge Shirley Ballas.
Dave Arch and his band once again were signed up to provide the music.
In the summer of 2024, there had been a string of complaints by past celebrities of the behaviour of some of the professional dancers and the BBC had apologised and announced new measures "including putting a member of Strictly production staff in all rehearsals to observe behaviour."
