Donny Osmond's Biography
Donny went on to sell over 80 million records over five decades.
The success started early as a member of the hugely popular Osmonds and, together with his sister he co-hosted The Donny & Marie Show.
In the 1980s Donny's career was relatively quiet and he developed social anxiety disorder, which led to stage fright, however, years later he made a comeback, and he told the BBC:
"I used to really hate the Puppy Love Donny Osmond. I used to really hate the Donny and Marie Donny Osmond. But you know what, those guys put me where I am today."
The Osmond family are Mormons and so set great store by genealogy and their family has been traced back to Merthyr Tydfil in Wales as far back as 1585.
In Dancing with the Stars series 9, Donny Osmond danced to victory partnering Kym Johnson.
Donny's sister Marie Osmond had appeared in season 5 of Dancing with the Stars.
