Who is Joe McFadden?

Joe McFadden was born on 9 October 1975 in Glasgow.

He is best-known for playing Raffaello ‘Raf’ di Lucca in BBC One’s Holby City.

He was first introduced to acting when he landed a role in Taggart at just 12 years of age.

McFadden first came to widespread public attention playing PC Joe Mason in Heartbeat.

For six years from the age of 15, Joe McFadden appeared in the Scottish soap High Road.

His other notable acting credits include Zig Zag Love (with Robert Carlyle), Cranford, The Crow Road and the film Small Faces.

In addition to his television roles, Joe McFadden has numerous theatre credits including Rainbow Kiss, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Rent.

In July 2020 Joe McFadden reprised his role as Raf Di Lucca in Holby City for a special episode on BBC One.

Joe McFadden on Strictly Come Dancing

On 12 August 2017, the BBC announced that Joe McFadden would be one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.

He was paired with Katya Jones.

Joe and Katya ended up winning Strictly 2017.
