Who is Kevin Clifton?

Kevin Clifton was born in Grimsby on 13 October 1982.

His parents are former world dance champions Keith and Judy Clifton of Waltham in the Grimsby area, who run Clifton's Dance Academy.

Initially, Kevin's dance partner was his younger sister, Joanne Clifton.

Kevin Clifton's dance accolades include being a former Youth World Number One and four time British Latin Champion.

In 2010, he made his musical theatre debut in Dirty Dancing in the West End, in which he partnered So You Think You Can Dance winner, Charlie Bruce.

He has been a principal dancer of the Burn the Floor Dance Company and he got engaged to Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer live on the stage of Burn The Floor. They married in 2015.

However, they split up in 2018.

Previously, Kevin Clifton was married to a ballerina named Clare Craze, and before that Anna Melnikova.

Kevin Clifton was 30 years old when he became a new addition to the Strictly Come Dancing line-up in 2013.

Kevin Clifton was paired with Susanna Reid. They ended up joint runners-up with Natalie Gumede and Artem Chigvintsev.

In 2014, Kevin Clifton was paired with Frankie Bridge in Strictly Come Dancing. They reached the final three and were joint runners-up with Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff.

In 2016, he was paired with Louise Redknapp.

Kevin and Louise reached the Strictly final and ended runners-up alongside Danny Mac and Otile Mabuse; just behind the winners Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton.

In Strictly Come Dancing 2017, Kevin Clifton was paired with Susan Calman. They were the ninth couple to be eliminated.

In 2018, he was partnered with Stacey Dooley and they won.

Kevin and Stacey subsequently started going out. They had a baby girl in 2023, Minnie.

In 2019, he was paired with Anneka Rice. They were the second couple to be eliminated.

In March 2020. it was revealed that Kevin Clifton was leaving Strictly Come Dancing.

In 2024, he was cast as a talent scout in a Father Brown epiosde, The Last Tango in Kembleford.
