Who is Bill Bailey?
He is a comedian, musician, actor, and broadcaster.His documentaries often relate to natural history.
A music teacher at school gave him the moniker Bill Bailey, due to his ability to play the song Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey on the guitar
He was raised in Keynsham, near Bristol. His mother was a nurse and his father a GP.
A talented musician from a very early age, he became an Associate of the London College of Music whilst still at school.
In 1995 his live show Bill Bailey's Cosmic Jam won the Edinburgh Festival Critics Award.
In 2001 he won Best Live Stand-Up at the British Comedy Awards.
His credits include acting in Black Books, whose cast also included Tamsin Greig, and being a team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
His live comedy shows often feature musical elements.
In 2020, Bill Bailey became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.
He was paired with Oti Mabuse and they won.
