Aliona Vilani was a 25-year-old from Kazakhstan when she became a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.
She is 5'5" tall.
When she was five, Aliona was enrolled in Arts Gymnasium for classical ballet and performing arts and she started ballroom dancing in Russia when she was 11.
In 1997, Aliona Vilani went to the United States to be a member of the Kaiser Dance Academy in Brooklyn.
She moved to Los Angeles in 2006.
In 2001, Aliona turned professional and the following year she won the Yankee Classic Rising-Star Professional Latin championship.
In season 8 of Dancing with the Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, Aliona Vilani performed in the professional dances although she was not a professional dancer partnering a celebrity.
She married sales director Vincent Kavanagh, in 2014.
On 22 December 2015, Aliona announced on Twitter that: "Going into the Strictly Come Dancing Series 13, I decided that no matter what would happen, it will be my last one."
On November 2 2016, Aliona revealed that she was pregnant.
