Oksana Platero, formerly Oksana Dmytrenko, was born in Ukraine and has been dancing since she was 6.
She was a National Youth Champion in Ukraine for three consecutive years.
After moving to the USA, she became a National US Champion taking first place in the Professional Rising Star Latin category. She also became the USDC World Professional Rising Star Champion.
Oksana faced a difficult decision when she and her partner auditioned for Dancing with the Stars, but only she got accepted. She decided to move from Boston and take the 10 week contract.
She danced for five seasons in the Dancing with the Stars professional troupe and also worked as a choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance.
