Patsy Kensit's Biography
Patsy Kensit, whose full name is Patricia Jude Francis Kensit, was born on 4 March 1968 in Hounslow, England.
Educated at a convent, Patsy Kensit started her acting career when she was just four. As a child she appeared in For the Love of Ada (1972), The Great Gatsby (1974) and The Blue Bird (1976) with Elizabeth Taylor. Patsy Kensit then went on to appear in commercials including one for Bird's Eye peas.
Later in life, Patsy Kensit was to have a few famous relationships with pop stars, but her first pop star boyfriend was Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp, when she was 15.
Kensit went on to marry Dan Danovan from Big Audio Dynamite (they parted after a few months when Kensit was 20), Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, and Liam Gallagher of Oasis.
Having declared, "All I want is to be more famous than anything or anyone", Patsy Kensit landed the role of Crepe Suzette in 1986 in the commercial flop Absolute Beginners.
Patsy Kensit sang "Having It All" in Absolute Beginners and for a while she used her musical ability as a member of pop group, Eighth Wonder.
Patsy Kensit's film career continued with roles in Michael Winner's A Chorus of Disapproval (1989), opposite Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), Twenty-One (1991), Blame It on the Bellboy (1992), The Turn of the Screw (1993), Angels and Insects (1995), and Bitter Harvest (1995).
Kensit also played the wife of football legend, George Best in Best (2000). Ironically, Patsy Kensit reportedly dated George's son, Calum Best at one point.
In 2005 Patsy Kensit landed the role of Sadie King in the long-running soap, Emmerdale. In an interview with the Sunday Express, she said: "I'm so lucky and so grateful, it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Looking back on everything that’s happened, I've had some incredible times and lived very much to the extreme. I've experienced a lot of things personally and professionally. But this is the most content I've been."
Patsy Kensit took home the Best Episode award for her role as Emmerdale's evil Sadie at The British Soap Awards.
The mother of two boys, one with Jim Kerr and the other with Liam Gallagher, Patsy Kensit has a Gaelic tattoo on her left foot and reportedly loves beards.
It was reported in 2005 that Patsy Kensit had split up with Jean-Christophe Novelli and afterwards she started going out with Lee Potter aka Killa Kela.
In 2007 Patsy Kensit took on the role of Faye in Holby City. Kensit told The Radio Times: "Faye's a nice girl who's a survivor. There are more similarities between me and her than any other part I've played."
In March 2008, the BBC reported that Patsy Kensit had ended her engagement to DJ Jeremy Healy, however, a year later Patsy Kensit and Jeremy Healy were married. However they got divorced soon after.
In 2008 Patsy Kensit was the subject of the BBC genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are, in which she discovered that her grandfather had been imprisoned for theft.
In September 2010, Patsy Kensit became a celebrity on Strictly Come Dancing. She was paired with Robin Windsor. Patsy Kensit and Robin Windsor were the eighth couple to be voted off the show.
In January 2015, Patsy Kensit was one of the housemates on Celebrity Big Brother.
In May 2019 the BBC announced that Patsy Kensit and Luke Roberts were to reprise their roles as Faye Morton and Joseph Byrne in Holby City for one episode as part of the programme’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
