Who is Artem Chigvintsev?

Artem Chigvintsev was born in 1982 in Russia.

Artem Chigvintsev is a Latin champion who was on So You Think You Can Dance in the US.

In February 2009 People reported that Artem Chigvintsev and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba had called it quits after 2½ years together.

Chigvintsev and Inaba had met in 2006 while he was competing on So You Think You Can Dance.

Artem Chigvintsev has appeared on a Dancing with the Stars work-out DVD and was also on the Dancing with the Stars tour.

His TV credits include Dirty Dancing, I Want To Be A Soap Star, Eli Stone and The O.C.

In August 2024, the BBC reported that Artem Chigvintsev had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in the US.

Artem Chigvintsev and Strictly Come Dancing

In Strictly Come Dancing 2013, Artem was partnered by Natalie Gumede. They ended up joint runners-up with Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton.

In 2012, Artem Chigvintsev was paired with Fern Britton in series 10 of Strictly Come Dancing.

They were the fifth couple to be voted off.

In 2011 in Strictly Come Dancing, Artem Chigvintsev was paired with Holly Valance. They were eliminated in the semi-finals.

Half way through the series, Artem Chigvintsev had incurred a back injury, after damaging a joint in rehearsals, and for a week, Brendan Cole was called in to partner Holly Valance.

In June 2010, the BBC had announced that Artem Chigvintsev along with Jared Murillo and Robin Windsor would be the new professional dancers appearing in Strictly Come Dancing series 8.

Artem Chigvintsev was paired with Kara Tointon.

Artem and Kara won Strictly Come Dancing. Shortly afterwards it was confirmed that Artem Chigvintsev and Kara Tointon were going out together.

Before Strictly Come Dancing series 8 started, The Sun, on 5 August 2010, reported that Artem Chigvintsev was also working at the West End musical Burn the Floor, and if he worked more than 20 hours a week in a second job, he risked deportation.

After Strictly, Chigvintsev continued to amass numerous appearances in the USA on Dancing with the Stars.
