Michelle Williams's Biography
She studied criminal justice at Illinois State University, but left the course to become a backing singer for R&B artist Monica.
Michelle Williams is best-known for being part of the hugely popular Destiny's Child, which she joined in February 2000 teaming up with Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland.
However, Destiny's Child split up in 2005, and Michelle Williams pursued a career as a soloist and as an actress.
She released two gospel albums Heart To Yours and Do You Know, and a dance pop album Unexpected.
Meanwhile Michelle Williams's acting credits included Half & Half on television, and numerous stage roles including the lead role in Tim Rice and Elton John's Aida, where she replaced Toni Braxton; and the lead role of Roxie Hart in Chicago on stage in London and L.A.
Michelle Williams has tattoos of a butterfly, a music staff wrapped around a treble clef, and a dove.
In 2010 Michelle Williams was paired with Brendan Cole on Strictly Come Dancing.
Because of a bereavement, Brendan Cole had to drop out for a week and so in the interim Ian Waite partnered Michelle Williams.
That week, once again Michelle narrowly survived being voted off.
In the end, Michelle Williams and Brendan Cole were the sixth couple to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing.
