Chris Ramsey's Biography
Who is Chris Ramsey?
He is a stand up comedian from South Shields.
Chris studied film and media at University in Sunderland but left the course just before the end.
In 2008, he reached the final of the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year competition, and pursued a career in comedy.
In 2010, he made his Edinburgh Fringe debut with Aggrophobic.
His next show Offermation was nominated for the Fosters' Comedy Award in 2011.
He has toured nationally with Offermation and All Growed Up.
Chris Ramsey has appeared on TV shows such as Celeb Juice, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and 8 Out of 10 Cats. He has also performed on Live at The Apollo, The John Bishop Show and The Royal Variety Performance, as well as acted in the sitcom Hebburn.
He was also featured on Channel 4's Time Crashers.
In 2015, his wife, Rosie gave birth to a son Robin.
In 2016, Comedy Central commissioned a comedy entertainment series hosted by Chris Ramsey.
In February 2016, Chris Ramsey was mistakenly arrested at midnight in his underpants, after the staff at the hotel he was staying in mistook him for a guest who had threatened them with a knife.
In September 2016, ITV announced that Chris Ramsey along with Joe Swash, Stacey Solomon and Vicki Pattison would present I’m A Celebrity...Extra Camp.
In 2019, he became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing.
He was paired with Karen Hauer. They were the 11th couple to be eliminated - just missing out on being in the final three.
In March 2020, it was announced that Chris Ramsey would host the live shows of the new entertainment show Little Mix The Search on BBC One.
