Jamelia Davis was born on 1 October, 1981 in Birmingham.
Jamelia signed with a record label when she was just 15 and three years later released her first single So High.
Jamelia's album Drama (2000) contained several top-selling singles, including Money.
Jamelia has been successful with the critics as well as commercially. She has been nominated for several Mobo awards (winning a few) and has also been nominated for Brit awards.
In November 2005, Jamelia was voted the best R&B act in the third annual Urban Music Awards.
