Jamelia Davis was born on 1 October, 1981 in Birmingham.

Jamelia signed with a record label when she was just 15 and three years later released her first single So High.

Her album Drama (2000) contained several top-selling singles, including Money.

Jamelia has been successful with the critics as well as commercially. She has been nominated for several Mobo awards (winning a few) and has also been nominated for Brit awards.

In November 2005, Jamelia was voted the best R&B act in the third annual Urban Music Awards.

Jamelia had a break from music when she fell pregnant and gave birth to daughter, Teja, in March 2001.

Back on the scene, Jamelia had success with Superstar and Thank You, about a former boyfriend who abused her, which won best single at the 2004 Mobos.

Coldplay's Chris Martin wrote See It In A Boy's Eyes for Jamelia.

In October 2005, Jamelia and her then boyfriend, footballer Darren Byfield, had a baby girl, Tiani.

In July 2008, Jamelia was one of the presenters of Big Brother's Big Mouth.

In November 2009, the BBC reported that Jamelia and Darren Byfield had agreed to divorce.

In November 2013, ITV announced that Jamelia was joining the panel of Loose Women.

In 2015, she became one of the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing. She was partnered by Tristan MacManus. They were the eighth couple to be voted off.
